GIDGET
This FeLV+ girl has been with us since 2017. FeLV adversely affects a cat’s body in many ways, including immune deficiency, digestive issues and dental inflammation. Gidget received surgery for stomatitis in 2021 but has otherwise maintained good health. We are hopeful for many more years with her!
LUCY
After 113 days of injections, our brave FIP Warrior was cured of this previously fatal disease along with a simultaneous toxoplasmosis infection. Once on her deathbed and down to 6.7 pounds, her weight nearly doubled by the end of her successful treatment!
MAGIC
Abandoned by their previous owner, Magic and his brother Ozzie sought refuge at a storage facility. We were asked to help trap the pair and found Magic with a broken leg and dislocated hip. Thankfully, he has fully recovered after emergency surgery and has become a sweet nurturer of cats needing TLC in our medical room.
LIZZY
Our friends at Feral Lifeguards came across this frail old lady with our microchip. She turned out to be a community cat who we TNR-ed 15 years ago! Lizzy was found to have hyperthyroidism, which can cause complications including heart disease and blindness. She is scheduled to receive radioiodine therapy, which will allow her to live out her life comfortably at the Cat Ranch.
SABRINA
Dental disease becomes increasingly common as cats advance in age and often cause debilitating pain. Sabrina is among more than a dozen Cat Ranch residents who’ve recently undergone dental procedures, ranging from routine plaque removal to full mouth extractions.
MASON
A “senior” FIV+ at the age of 9, Mason was nearly euthanized when his previous owner went into assisted living. He lived for another decade at the Cat Ranch! We carefully monitor our senior cats’ health through blood work, provide them with high quality nutrition, and support those with declining kidney function with fluid therapy.
